Financially the Darlages are unable to afford
most of the expensive equipment that would make caring for Hunter more
comfortable for him and just a little easier for them. Medicaid doesn't cover
things like an at-home therapy table to assist in taking care of Hunter’s
personal hygiene, portable wheelchair ramps which would allow Hunter to be more
easily mobile at home or a wheelchair accessible van to transport him more
safely and comfortably. The Darlages are currently traveling approximately
500-750 miles each week for appointments to meet Hunter’s medical needs and
it’s costing them a small fortune in gas just to get him back and forth. There
simply aren't the funds to purchase the tools that would make all of their
lives a little easier.
Hunter's Heroes would like to help the Darlage family have access to the educational, therapeutic and other tools that would enrich Hunter's life. Hunter loves the outdoors and we'd also like to see him get a few of the things that would expand his mobility outdoors as well!
